THIN LIZZY Guitarist Loves Ireland

Launch Radio Networks reports: Today (Friday, March 17) is St. Patrick's Day, and it's also the 55th birthday of THIN LIZZY guitarist Scott Gorham. Gorham was born and raised in California, but he rose to fame after joining the Irish band in 1974. So it's appropriate on this "day o' the green" that he speaks fondly of the Emerald Isle. Gorham told Launch that despite the negative perceptions people might have about Ireland, he really thinks it's a great place. "You know, good things do come out of Ireland, you know?" he said. "It's not a nation of IRA and UDA bombings, and all that, you know? This is a nation full of talented people, it's a nation full of, you know, great storytellers, of great people to have a lot of fun with."

THIN LIZZY kicks off their 20/20 tour tonight at The Point in Dublin, Ireland. The tour name refers to the fact that the group will play 20 shows in Europe over the next few weeks to mark the 20 years since bandleader Phil Lynott died.

The current lineup includes longtime members Gorham and guitarist John Sykes, along with former TED NUGENT and WHITESNAKE bassist Marco Mendoza and drummer Michael Lee.
